Man Kills Daughter Of Chief Imam



The household of the Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Bala Inna, has been thrown into mourning, as after a 30-year-old resident of Railway Road in Bauchi allegedly poisoned and Hajara Ahmed, the Imam’s 11-year-old daughter.
Jarelu Ahmed, the suspect, who was arrested on Monday, August 31, by Police detectives, was said to have buried the deceased in his room after killing her.

Haruna Mohammed, the police public relations officer, Bauchi state command, in a statement, said forensic experts visited the scene of the crime, exhumed the body and had taken the corpse to the hospital for postmortem.

He said, “On Monday, August 31 at about 18 hours (6pm), Police detectives, attached to Township Division, arrested one Jarelu Ahmed, Male, (30) of Railway Road, Bauchi.

“The suspect allegedly poisoned one Hajara Ahmed, an 11-year-old daughter of one Bala Ahmed Baban Inna (Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque), killed and buried her in his room in order to conceal his atrocity.

“The scene of crime was visited by forensic experts, attached to State Criminal Investigation Department and the victim’s body was exhumed, photographed and taken to ATBU Teaching Hospital for postmortem examination.”

The police spokesman added that investigation into the matter was still on and further findings will be made known to the family and general public as they unfold.

In recent times, many Nigerians have expressed worry over the high rate of homicides in the country, with many cases remaining unsolved by the police.
