Nigeria and Lille goalie, Vincent Enyeama has ruled himself out of contention for the upcoming AFCON 2017 qualifier against Tanzania and friendly against Niger.
The media was informed of the development by Super Eagles boss, Sunday Oliseh who said the team’s skipper would not be able to make it for the trip to Tanzania for reasons unknown.

“The late withdrawal has put me in a very tight situation because I must confess that the task ah“We’re practically starting this team from the scratch, it’s not very pleasant but that’s life,” he said.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa will take up the armband being the vice-captain and he has already said he doesn’t feel the pressure of leaving the national team.
Goal.com quotes him saying: “I’m not under any pressure to lead the team because I have done that against South Africa [in March 2015] and by the grace of God we’re going over there for the three points”.
In goal, Carl Ikeme of Wolverhampton Wanderers is expected to replace the 101-capped Enyeama against the Taifa Stars.
He said: “I’m just enjoying being here to train with the boy and the coach.”
The Super Eagles are expected to train twice on Wednesday before jetting out to Dar es Salaam on Thursday afternoon via a chartered flight. A 23-man squad which includes 18 foreign-based and five home-based players were selected for the matchead of us is a very difficult one and I didn’t need this extra burden
