Mkwasa banks on Turkey to beat Eagles

Tanzania’s  head coach Charles Boniface Mkwasa and skipper Nadir Haroub believe the week-long training in Turkey has bolstered their chances of overcoming Nigeria tomorrow.
Taifa Stars will play host to the Super Eagles on match-day 2 of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

Seeking to give the Stars an ideal groundwork ahead of the high-profile qualifier, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) opted to send the team to Turkey for training and while there, Mkwasa’s charges played one friendly match against Libya last Saturday which they lost 2-1.
Mkwasa told the TFF website the camp has been a huge success for the players as they have shown big changes in their play.
“With the exception of Abdi Banda, who is injured, all other players are fit and I believe whoever gets a chance in the match against Nigeria will do well,” he said.
The Stars coach hailed the environment that surrounded the camp as perfect and reiterated to be satisfied with his players’ show in the defeat against Libya.
Mkwasa said he was pleased that all the players who featured against Libya put in a strong performance and played according to his instructions and that he has worked out on minor problems that surfaced during the game, insisting that they are now ready to take on Nigeria.
